Last week the Falcons put the franchise tag on corner back Brent Grimes. This week they have started out by re-signing safety Thomas Decoud. Terms were not disclosed but the rumor is two years for $5 million. That's a price I can get behind for a guy that has shown some definite talent in the past but is coming off of a lackluster year.

Decoud was part of the very first draft class of GM Thomas Dimitroff way back in 2008. Despite having a lackluster year in 2011, he still had a career high in tackles with 86 and also had a career high in interceptions with 4. It will be interesting to see who is brought in to battle with him for the safety spot opposite William Moore.

D Orlando Ledbetter is also reporting that Michael Palmer and Antone Smith have signed their "exclusive rights" contracts.
