Seems like the Falcons are about to "kick off" free agent signings. (I'll be here all night. Tip your waitresses)
The final sticking point is that Biermann wants a three-year contract. The team would like to lock him up for four years. The deal will land in the $10-12 million range, the source said.
Around $3 million a year is not bad for Kroy, a special teams ace who has, in my humble opinion, been frustratingly inconsistent on defense. After being the first player from Montana drafted ever, Kroy showed flashes of pass rushing ability in his second season amassing 5 sacks in limited playing time.
The two years after that, Kroy has totaled only 5.5 sacks. Many believe Kroy will play much better in Mike Nolan's defensive scheme, and should likely remain in rotation on the defensive line and perhaps a pass rushing outside linebacker.
For those of you who accidentally came across this page, Kroy is married to one of the members of Real Housewives of Atlanta, a show I have never, nor will I ever, watch. Many have questioned Kroy's lack of development on the show, but perhaps a new defensive coordinator will play to his strengths better than Brian VanGorder.
Regardless, Kroy is a quality depth player who should see an uptick in sacks in a more attacking defense. How does everyone feel about the potential resigning?
I think it's great. Kroy is a good player who is drastically underpaid right now. I believe he is worth 3-4 million a year in Salary.
@Shawn Baker Shawn, Thanks for registering and commenting. Welcome to the site. Hope you continue to come back and talk Falcons football with us.
@Shawn Baker His contract sounds about right. $3 million a year, with incentives that could push it to $4 million a year. I think we got him right around market price, considering his special teams ability.
