2013 NFL Draft Big Board (Top 75 Prospects)
Earlier this month I debuted the top 50 prospects for the 2013 NFL draft. I've added the next 25 so here is a look at the top 75 prospects for the 2013 NFL draft. All draft eligible under-classmen are denoted with an asterik.
Top 5 Prospects
1. David Amerson*, CB, NCSU. 6'3 194 LBs
Amerson at #1 is going to create some controversy, but Amerson is the total package, he brings a combination of size, instincts, speeds, and ball skills to the table. As a sophmore he recorded 13 INTs breaking an ACC record set by Dre Bly. Amerson's INT total will most likely drop as opposing teams should stop throwing towards him, but Amerson has proven he has the ball skills that could help turn the tide of an NFL game. Amerson is the best corner prospect in the last decade, and is the best player in this year's draft.
2. Matt Barkley, QB, USC. 6'2 230 LBs
Barkley is likely the first player off the board, and rightfully so. He has all the makings of a franchise quarterback. He has good zip, great accuracy, great decision making, and is a natural leader at USC. Barkley will be a great addition to whatever team picks him up and will likely the man under center for at least a decade.
3. Robert Woods*, WR, USC. 6'1 180 LBs
Woods is a playmaker at the WR position. He is fast but also has the size and ups that makes a guy like him extremely dangerous. After bringing in 111 balls for over 1200 yards expect Woods to put up similar or better numbers this year playing with Barkley again. Woods has all the makings of a #1 WR in the NFL, and comes from a program known for putting out great talent into the NFL.
4.) Jarvis Jones*, OLB, UGA. 6'3 241 LBs.
Jones is a premier edge rusher in CFB. He brings a combination of speed and power to the table that will excite any NFL team. as a sophomore he recorded 13.5 sacks and 70 tackles, including 4 sacks against Florida. Jones will be an excellent pick up for a 3-4 team looking for that guy who can come in and be a presence off the edge.
5.) Star Lotulelei, NT, UTAH. 6'4 325 LBs
Lotulelei is an interesting big man from Utah he is very athletic for his size and has the strength to push the pocket. In a class that is deep at the NT position Lotulelei is the best one out there. He explodes off the ball and consistently dominates the C/G. He reminds me a lot of Haloti Ngata in the way that he explodes off the line and with his superb athleticism
