While Week 1 for the offense couldn't have gone better for Atlanta, the Falcons lost star cornerback Brent Grimes to a season-ending Achilles injury. Christopher Owens, one of the players expected to have to step up with Grimes out, is looking forward to facing Manning. "This is like facing Mike Tyson in a 12-round bout, but I'm excited for the opportunity," Owens said. "It's unfortunate what happened with Grimes, but the next man's got to step up, and that's the mentality you've got to have with this team." |

Just when you think the Falcons are on the rise, both offensively and defensively....they lose their fanchise-tagged, pro-bowl corner. WOW....I know it's early....but this is a must win game for the DirtyBirds....why?? Can you CONFIDENCE??
@ScarletAndGray Thanks for commenting. I don't know if I would put it in the "must win" bucket simply because the Falcons did win their opener but I can see your rationale. There is no doubt that this is a big game, especially because it's in front of a National TV audience.
@CFBZ @ScarletAndGray It should be a more difficult game than the Chiefs. It is rough losing Grimes but the rest of the NFC South looks like a mess. May be awhile until we have a must win type game.
